Community Kicks was born from one familyβs mission to make football a safe, fun, and inclusive space for every child β no matter their background, ability, or financial situation.
Weβre Scott and Leanne, and together with our kids Malichi and Lucie, we created Community Kicks as a passion project during one of the hardest times in our lives. What started as a few local sessions quickly turned into something much bigger β a grassroots movement built on love, belonging, and boots on the pitch.
Scott, who has autism and ADHD, thrives in crisis response and is deeply passionate about helping others β especially kids who feel overlooked or misunderstood. Leanne, a youth coach and educator, has always believed in creating spaces where young people feel seen, safe, and celebrated.
Malichi, our 15-year-old son, lives and breathes football. Heβs not just a player β heβs a qualified young referee, a budding coach, and a powerful role model to the younger kids. Lucie, 13, is the creative soul of the team β always supporting behind the scenes and bringing heart to everything we do.
We created Community Kicks because we saw too many kids missing out β excluded by club fees, team pressure, or personal challenges. We wanted to change that. With the support of a local charity and our amazing community, weβve been able to offer fully funded weekly sessions, open to all, where children can play without pressure, grow in confidence, and just be themselves.
In 2024, we were proud to win a community award for our work, (Spirit Of Tamworth Volunteers Of The Year) recognising the positive impact the project has had on local families. Not long after, we found our official home at The Vision Football Factory β a welcoming space where our dream could grow. Thanks to their charity Vision For All kicks can thrive week in week out.
Today, Community Kicks is more than football. Itβs a movement. Itβs mentorship. Itβs magic.
And weβre just getting started. β½π
